Zpryme Announces Andrew Johnston as President of Energy Thought Summit (ETS)
Energy Thought Summit has quickly become the premier energy event in leading cities throughout the United States and is based in Austin, Texas. Energy thought leaders have included the co-founder of Apple Inc, utility CEOs and executives, strategists for leading companies, world-recognized research fellows, and government leaders.
The purpose in this new role as ETS President is for Mr. Johnston to continue the momentum of ETS branded events and also capitalize and leverage Zpryme’s leadership in media, research, and advisory services. Key themes of ETS and Zpryme include energy, transportation, modernizing infrastructure, and mobile/digital communications.
“Mr. Johnston brings a lively perspective and unique track record of accomplishment to our team,” said Mark Ishac, Managing Director of Zpryme. “We are beyond excited about the immediate impact he will have on our partners, customers, and the broader energy community. As Zpryme opens this new chapter, Drew is the perfect person to lead ETS forward.”
“I want to bring great minds, doers, and institutions together to invest in real-world solutions that address infrastructure, social and ecological challenges facing our globe, communities, markets, technologies, and policies.” Johnston stated. “I look forward to joining an already great team at Zpryme.”
“Drew’s drive, ideas, and passion for our energy future is a great asset to the community” said Karl Popham, Manager of Emerging Technologies & Electric Vehicles at Austin Energy. “I look forward to Drew taking many of the innovations and practices from his thought leadership in Central Texas and sharing them with a global audience.”
Previously, Johnston was the Lead of Central Texas Fuel Independence Project – a 10-county advanced vehicle technology initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy and led by Austin Energy. Prior to that, he worked with Landis+Gyr deploying state of the art metering technology and served as Chief of Staff to the Wharton Economist, Jeremy Rifkin. He received his degrees from The Ohio State University and The University of Texas at Austin. In 2014 Johnston received the Austin Under 40 Award for Energy and Technology.
