Sensus, a Xylem brand, along with Zpryme and the Rural Smart Grid Summit (RSGS) are pleased to release the results of an insightful Smart Grid survey focused on the innovation efforts of 80 U.S. rural cooperative utilities.

Key Findings:

• Most utilities agreed AMI meters (100%), meter data management (96%), and demand response (96%) are the most important emerging technologies for their cooperative.

• Within the next 3 years, cooperatives plan to focus on AMI meters (76%) and meter data management (63%) technology deployment.

• Many utilities plan on outage management systems (91%), automated meter reading (90%), and geographic information system (88%) as the most important legacy technologies for their cooperatives.
