Summary
The purpose of this quarterly report is to track return to work expectations and the importance of having a remote work option among employees. The results of the analysis are presented by age, U.S. region, and gender. The data in this report was collected at the end of June 2021.

The data and graphics in this report are from Zpryme’s monthly and quarterly consumer benchmarking surveys. Data is based upon a nationally representative survey sample of 1,000 U.S. adults (margin of error: +/- 3.5%).
Highlights
- The largest group across all categories was for those workers who were already back in the office (43.1%). In fact, only 4.8% said their employer expected them back in the office in 6 months or more. More males (45.2%) than females (40.9%) were already in the office.
- Just 29.8% said working from home was not important, while a bigger group (32.4%) said it was very important. A larger group of females (39.5%) than males (24.7%) said working from home was very important. Not surprisingly, the importance of working from home declines with age.
- A comparison between Q1 2021 with Q2 2021 revealed about the same percentage who were already back in the office (42.3% in Q1, 43.1% in Q2), but a drop in those saying 6 months or more to return to the office (12.6% in Q1, 4.8% in Q2). Those saying working from home was very important increased over this time period (25.6% in Q1, 32.4% in Q2).
