U.S. EV Sales
- In August 2022, EV month over month sales decreased for the first time since April 2022.
- For August 2022, EV sales reached 70,871, which represents 10.7% decrease over July 2022. On an annual basis, according to data from ANL, this represents a 62.1% increase compared to August 2021 EV sales (43,721).
- In August, PEVs accounted for 6.3% of all light-duty vehicle (LDV) sales, which is slightly down from the 7.0% figure reached in July 2022.
- Small size SUVs (39%) and midsize cars (26%) made up the majority of PEV models sold in August of 2022.
- Through August, Tesla models have accounted for over a half (55.0%) of EV sales in 2022.
- In August, BEVs accounted for 81.4% of all PEVs sold (18.6% for PHEVs).
