U.S. EV Sales
- In June 2022, EV monthly sales reached their highest number of units sold to date.
- For June 2022, EV sales reached 74,211, which represents a 0.8% increase over May 2022. On an annual basis, according to data from ANL, this represents a 49.6% increase compared to June 2022 EV sales (49,621).
- In June, PEVs accounted for 6.6% of all light-duty vehicle (LDV) sales. This figure is up 1.2 percentage points from January of 2022 (5.4%) and up 3.9 percentage points since Janaury of 2021 (2.7%).
- Year to date, 2022 total EV sales are up by 60% vs 2021. Small size SUVs (39%) and midsize cars (27%) made up the majority of PEV models sold in June of 2022.
- Through June, Tesla models have accounted for over a half (56.2%) of EV sales in 2022.
- In August, BEVs accounted for 79.6% of all PEVs sold (20.4% for PHEVs).
