U.S. EV Sales
- In July, EV monthly sales reached their highest number of units sold to date.
- For July 2022, EV sales reached 79,325, which represents a 6.9% increase over June 2022. On an annual basis, according to data from ANL, this represents a 52.2% increase compared to July 2021 EV sales (52,114).
- In July, PEVs accounted for 7.0% of all light-duty vehicle (LDV) sales. This figure is up 1.6 percentage points from January of 2022 (5.4%) and up 4.3 percentage points since January of 2021 (2.7%).
- Year to date, 2022 total EV sales are up by 58% vs 2021.
- Small size SUVs (38%) and midsize cars (26%) made up the majority of PEV models sold in July of 2022.
- Through July, Tesla models have accounted for over a half (56.0%) of EV sales in 2022.
- In July, BEVs accounted for 83.7% of all PEVs sold (16.3% for PHEVs).
