As a dancer, what do you think about the ubiquitous term “pivot” in business?

In dance, a pivot rotates the dancer to face a different direction, but it does not imply movement towards it. I believe this should apply to business, by being aware of their surroundings, but not recklessly pursuing the latest fad or technology.

Do you have a virtual mentor that inspires you?

I’m fonder of independent developers and the support communities they create, rather than gurus and moguls. Small time entrepreneurs support each other constantly, and that’s inspiring.

What gets your creative engine running?

Discussing ideas with coworkers creates a lot of inspiration, which just inspires more creativity on my part. I enjoy planning for spontaneity and improvisation, by leaving projects open ended.
